Living City Helicopter Tests

San Marcos in the Desert Concept

For San Marcos, we are thinking about using the 2D rendering method to show the exterior of the building starting from seeing the complex from father away and then following a car to get a closer look at the building.

1. the approach to the building begins with a bird's eye view of the entire complex

2. Once one gets closer, a car appears and one follows it to get a closer look at the building and finally to enter the building.

3.the interior of the building might need to be generated by computer because there are not that many drawings available. So, we need to identify keys areas that need to be presented.

NOTE:
  1. In order to be able to model the buildings, a set of architectural drawings is much needed. I have a pdf (which is not enough) of one of the floors of a terrace wing. Could you send me all the drawings you have? As teh project is quite complex, the more information we have the more accurate we can be with the modeling and rendering of the interior space of the building.
  2. Missing drawing. Could you please send me this elevation drawing?

Midway Gardens concept

Basically, we are approaching Midway Gardens the same way we did the Imperial Hotel thanks to the availability of their photographic records.

Both demolished projects will be presented in an interactive mode instead of a computer generated animation. Guest will be able to locate themselves within the precinct of the building and navigate their way through virtual spaces created by stitching together photos of the real spaces.

Note:
  1. We are still missing plans.
  2. If there are even more photos, it would make the virtual spaces even richer and more believable.

Imperial Hotel: Book Scans: Banquet Room

The banquet room is located on the top floor of the central mass of the building.

Imperial Hotel: Book Scans: courtyard gardens

There are two courtyard gardens within the mass of the hotel. They are basically the elements in the entire complex that have true Japanese style.

Imperial Hotel: Book Scans: Auditorium

The third part of the building that is worth noting is the auditorium/cabaret. It has a very sophisticated plan and the details of the decor were also exquisite. The room was renowned for its superb acoustics.
